Scottie Tales for the week of February 1

A Note From Your Principal

Third Quarter started off with a wonderful display of winter. I hope between distance learning, you and your family were able to get outside and enjoy the snow that we have missed over the last few years.

As a reminder, depending on how the School Board votes at their work session today, the new bell schedule (9AM-3:30PM) goes into effect starting February 16. More details about the new schedule and the return dates were posted in last week's newsletter and are available for review on the Bonnie Brae website.

This week is National School Counseling week. Please take time this week to reach out to our fabulous counselors Ms. Jeffries and Mrs. Kaniewski to share your appreciation for all they do for our students and families. I am so impressed with these ladies and the tireless work they do both with students and teachers to make sure we are meeting all of our students social emotional needs especially during these difficult and stressful times.

Our next Bonnie Brae Gives Back event is scheduled to start week of February 15th. We will be running a food drive at Bonnie Brae to support those families in our community who are struggling with food for their pantry due to the pandemic. Please consider driving by the school and donating much needed items throughout the week. At the end of the week we will take the donated food to the Food for Others pantry located in Fairfax. Take a look below at items that are in critical need.

As always, we are going to come out stronger because of each other. Stay safe, take care of yourself and take care of each other.

Best,

Principal Skerker

Community Input Needed

Our school is looking for your help! As we start the third quarter we begin looking to next school year and beyond. One project that is coming is the renovation of our school. The renovation of Bonnie Brae is scheduled to begin March, 2023. Between now and then we are in need of your help. We are looking for three to four members from the community to be part of the Design Committee. This Committee will meet regularly during the planning phases of the renovation providing input along the way. If you are interested, please complete the survey below.
