HMS VIRTUAL Curriculum Night

Herndon Middle School invites rising 7th and rising 8th grade parents and students to learn about our core-subject curriculum, elective courses, and other useful information to prepare for your student’s middle school transition at our upcoming Curriculum Night!

 

Date: Thursday Feb, 4th 

Time: 5:30-7:30 P.M.

Our early bird session at 5:30 P.M. will feature information about Special Education and ESOL curriculum. Our asynchronous Curriculum Website will also be available for parents to view beginning at 5:30 P.M.

We will begin our curriculum presentation at 6:00 P.M. followed by live Q & A sessions with HMS teachers from 6:30-7:30 P.M.

AVID Program

Come learn about the AVID program and the many ways AVID will help your student to attain academic success in middle school, high school, and college!

AVID Night will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9th @ 6:00 PM. Links for this virtual meeting will be available soon.


Snow day: Supply Distribution DATE CHANGE

Revised Date:  2/8 (Mon.)

Time: 11am-2pm and 4:00pm-6pm

Location: HMS Bus Lane (behind the school at door #6)

Supplies will be ready only for those students in the following 2nd Semester classes:

  • Art Foundations (Citron)
  • Guitar (Sebastian)
  • 3D Art, Computers in Art (Clark)
  • Tech Ed 1, Tech Ed 2 (Gralton)
  • FACS (Dempsey)

When you arrive at the event for your elective supplies please be ready to provide the following information when greeted:

  • Student’s Last Name and First Name
  • 2nd Semester Class Title
  • 2nd Semester Elective Teacher’s Name

This information can also be written clearly on a piece of paper to show when you arrive to help speed up the distribution process.

Donations Needed: Alcohol Wipes for Classrooms

Herndon Middle School PTA is supporting HMS teachers as they prepare for students return. Please consider donation g a few packages of Alcohol Wipes for HMS classrooms! 

Families can drop off their donation outside door 1 from 7am-3:30pm and we will start to distribute them into classrooms

HMS PTA invites your student to the "HMS Among Us Night" on Saturday Feb 13 from 7-8:30pm. (Don't know what Among Us is?  Just ask your middle schooler!)  Students will be sent the BBCU link in their school email.
