A Message From Principal Yacubovich

Return To School Update

As we head into the 3rd quarter, we are excited about the possibility of soon returning to school. We are working to ensure that all possible mitigation strategies are used to ensure our staff and students' safety.

We encourage you to tune into the February 2nd, where Return to School will be the primary topic. To watch the school board meeting, you can stream it by clicking here or watch your local cable channel 99 (Verizon channel 11).

Once we had updated dates, we will be sending out letters with new teacher assignments. All teacher assignment changes will happen the Monday before your child's grade level returns to in-person instruction.

Community Resources

Warmline Available to All Virginians Struggling to Cope

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused upheaval and unexpected stress in the lives of so many people. To support Virginians, the VA C.O.P.E.S. (compassionate, optimistic, person-centered, empowering support) warmline is available to offer support. The mental health tip line started in May 2020 and, thanks to new funding, the service will be extended through May 2021.

Any Virginian can make a confidential call and speak to a crisis counselor about what's bothering them. The line is available Monday-Friday 9am-9pm and 5pm-9pm on the weekends by phone or text at 877-349-6428. Spanish counselors are also available.

The warmline is available to residents who may be struggling to cope with the effects of the pandemic including isolation, fear, grief, and anxiety. Not only will callers be provided a supportive compassionate ear, but they will also be provided additional information, resources, and referrals as needed.

  • Several of your questions are addressed in the FCPS Parent Technology Resource page
  • If there is a problem with your Pine Spring issued laptop, please call the main office at 571-226-4400 to schedule an appointment. Our specialist is here to support you on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He is also here on Monday mornings. Computers and MiFi support is by appointment only to ensure the safety of our staff and community.
  • FCPS’ YouTube channel has videos on basic technology topics that highlight some of the key FCPS tools, such as Google and Blackboard. These videos are designed to provide solutions for quick, simple questions.
