Eaglegram

Dear Clermont Families,

Dr. Brabrand and the FCPS Leadership Team have drafted new Return to School dates. On February 2, 2021, Superintendent Brabrand will share these dates, along with his Return to School Plan, during a School Board Work Session. The Return to School dates that apply to Clermont ES are as follows:

Kindergarten – February 23

Grades 1 & 2 – March 9

Grades 3, 4, 5, & 6 – March 16

More information about these transitions back into the building for those that chose the hybrid return to the building model will be forthcoming after the February 2 school board meeting.

This week has been quite eventful, and I want to pause for a moment to recognize Monday's messages of hope, service, and unity in honor of the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as Wednesday’s messages of patriotism and unity during the Inaugurations of President Biden and Vice President Harris. Both are important reminders that the work we do as educators must continue, regardless of the method of delivery. We will continue to keep equity and kindness at the heart of what we do.

Enjoy the three-day weekend! Take care of yourself and each other.

Ms. Salata, Principal

An image of a mouse with a bigger shadow in a superhero shape. This year's theme is: I am strong because.

Strength isn’t only about how fast you can run or how many pushups you can do – it’s also about the strength inside of you.

How do you rise above troubles and keep moving forward in tough times? When you make mistakes or get scared, what helps you clear the clouds above your head? When people around you are feeling down, how do you use your inner strength to lift them up?

What makes you uniquely strong?

How do I participate?

School Picture Day for Clermont Students

Picture Day is Wednesday, February 3! If you have participated in school pictures before, the process will be a little different this year. Pictures will be taken by family this year instead of by class. If you would like to have your Clermont students photographed, please click here to sign-up for a time slot your family. If there are no available sign-ups at the link, please email lmgibson@fcps.edu for scheduling. Parents may order photos at www.mylifetouch.com using picture day ID: EVT6BG86D (This code is good up until 24 hours after picture day.)

Pictures will be taken in the Clermont cafeteria from 9:00am – 3:00pm, at your designated time. You will enter through door #2, which is at the cafeteria near our Kiss and Ride loop. We have safety protocols in place that must be followed before you can enter the building. Everyone present will need to wear a face covering at all times. At the exact time when the student is being photographed, the photographer will have the child take their mask off and hold it down where it will not be seen in the photo. We will send a link the night before for you to answer some health questions online. If you do not receive the email, or forget to answer the questionnaire before coming, we will have a QR code at the door that you can scan with a mobile device and complete onsite.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Lisa Gibson at lmgibson@fcps.edu or Coral Mullin at cjmullin@fcps.edu or by phone at 703-921-2400.

  • FCPS' Parent Technology Resource page includes tip sheets in multiple languages that provide answers to basic questions about FCPS technologies.
  • FCPS’ YouTube channel has videos on basic technology topics that highlight some of the key FCPS tools, such as Google and Blackboard. These videos are designed to provide solutions for quick, simple questions.
  • Broader inquiries about FCPS programs or resources for families may be directed to the Parent Resource Center at 703-204-3941, or use one of our eight Parent Information Phone Lines for information in multiple languages.
