General Tryout Information

FCPS has adopted a new online registration process that requires parents to register their students for school-based activities and athletics. Lake Braddock’s site is now live! This registration applies to the following:

Academic Activities - Debate, Forensics, Scholastic Bowl, & Theater

Athletic Activities - Fall Sports, Winter Sports, & Spring Sports

Parents will create one account per family. Students in the same family will need to be registered within the same account. To access the Lake Braddock Activities & Athletics Registration Website, please click here.

  1. Concussion Education is now a required step within registration. Signed paper versions will no longer be collected by the Athletic Training Program or Activities Office. Please carefully review the information in its entirety. It will need to be signed electronically by both the parent and student. If a paper version has already been submitted for 2020-21, you will still need to complete the Concussion Education step to move forward. This will be our only accepted form of Concussion Education completion moving forward.
  2. Emergency Care Form information is now collected via the registration process. Please make sure this information is complete and accurate, as it will be shared with EMS in the event of an emergency. While no longer needed for tryouts, hard copies are still REQUIRED for Green/Yellow Day activities in the event an Athletic Trainer is not available.
  3. VHSL Physical Forms will continue to be collected by the Athletic Training Staff or Activities Office. Physicals can either be emailed to Kristyn Wharton at kwharton@fcps.edu (PDF format), mailed to the school, or dropped off in the main office. If you have already submitted a physical for this school year, it is on file and will remain valid until June 30th, 2021. Blank VHSL forms can be found here.
  4. Parent/Guardian Health Screening Commitment Form is an agreement to complete a daily health screening prior to sending your student-athlete to school. We are asking parents to complete this form electronically. This will allow your child to enter the building for workouts and/or practices amidst COVID-19 procedures. To fill this form out, please click here.
  5. Tryout Card Distribution will be shared via News You Choose, the LB Athletics website, and social media prior to the start of each season. We typically distribute tryout cards the week before each season starts. Please keep an eye out for this information as your season approaches! Spectators

Great News! FCPS has been given the go ahead to allow limited spectators at indoor events held on FCPS campuses. Per the Governor's mandate that restricts spectators at indoor athletic events, we will need to limit attendance to 25 spectators per game. Below outlines the timelines and the process we will use to institute this. A must read, should you have the opportunity to attend an event.

  • Per FCPS, spectator attendance has been permitted for VARSITY ONLY HOME events. Attendance will be limited to 25 (home team) spectators for indoor sports (free of charge) and 2-spectators per athlete for outdoor events -- ($5 for students/children under the age of 5 and $10 for adults).  Please bring exact change.

 General Guidelines

  • Per the Fairfax County Park Authority, there will be no spectators allowed at their pool facilities.
  • Due to facility occupancy restrictions, for the Track Meets on January 9th and January 23rd, spectators will be limited to two guests per student-athlete.
  • Attendance will be allowed at HOME events only
  • Coaches will be responsible for providing an updated list with the names of the 25 spectators per team. Names must be on this list to enter.
  • Spectators are asked to arrive at the school, no earlier than 10-15 minutes prior to scheduled start time. We cannot allow entrance into the gym until all previous game/event spectators have exited. If the weather isn't cooperative, you may want to wait in your cars.
  • As you enter the facility, you will be required to sign-in and take part in a Covid-19 screening, to include a temperature check.
  • Spectators will be directed to a specific section of the facility. There will be no concessions and outside food and drink is prohibited. (With the exception of water.)
  • All spectators must wear masks at all times! Spectators will also be expected to practice safe social distancing while on the school grounds. You may sit with members of your household and you must be six feet from spectators that are not living within your household.
  • At the conclusion of the game, spectators will need to exit the facility as directed immediately. This is to ensure that we can have a smooth transition between games and allow staff to follow FCPS and VHSL protocols.

Although we understand that this doesn't get us back to normal and allow for everyone who wants to attend an event to do so, we hope this is a step in that direction.  We remind everyone  that SPORTSMANSHIP is an expectation of those attending an event at Lake Braddock Secondary School. As members of Patriot District, Occoquan Region and the Virginia High School League we have high standards of sportsmanship is what we expect from those in attendance towards the players, fans and officials. We appreciate your positive support! If you are unable to attend an event in-person, don't stress WE ARE LIVE-STREAMING ALL HOME EVENTS ON YOUTUBE @ https://www.youtube.com/c/LakeBraddockAthleticLeadershipBroadcasting (please subscribe).
