Dear Woodburn Families,
Thank you for joining us at this week's PTA meeting. It was wonderful to have our school counselors, Ms. Coury and Ms. Gannon, share information about the social and emotional supports we offer our students. We all stand ready to support every one of our wildcats and encourage you to reach out to us and our student support team at any time .
Next week brings the start of the third quarter. We are proud of all that our students have accomplished during the first semester and are excited for all that is to come!

As we wrap up the second quarter we continue to feel beyond grateful for the commitment of our amazing Woodburn teachers and staff. P2 Trait of the Week
As a family, explore the P2 character strength of the week! Next week we will focus on supporting others when they struggle. Click this link P2 for families to access to the character card, a quote, video and 3 questions 😊 The password is P2.
We are excited to get our new 3rd and 4th grade laptops into the hands of our students. We will be holding two grade level distributions to exchange devices. All 3rd and 4th grade students can pick up a new laptop on the dates below.
- 4th Grade: Monday January 25th from 3-7pm
- 3rd Grade: Monday, February 1st from 3-7pm

Curbside Library Service for February 2021
Library curbside pick-up service will resume in February. We are changing the pick-up time to 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. We hope this time slot will be more convenient for our busy families.
To request books from Woodburn:
Students may put up to 5 books on hold through the Destiny online library catalog. Students in grades 3-6 can log in to Destiny to place books on hold.
Please submit your hold requests by Friday at 5:00 p.m. for Monday pick up. We will check out your hold requests and email both student and parent/guardian to let you know when your books are ready to pick up.
Students in grades K-2:
To request a mystery bag, please email your librarian, Ms. Lockwood at mllockwoodgo@fcps.edu. Please include your child’s first and last name, grade, and classroom teacher.

Casa D’Mama is hosting back-to-back restaurant days for Woodburn! On January 27 AND 28 for lunch and dinner, you can let someone else cook for you and enjoy some delicious pizza, wings, subs, or salad. You’ll need to call the restaurant (703-256-3780) and mention Woodburn when you place your order. Support Woodburn and enjoy a clean kitchen. Win, win!

Attention 6th Grade Parents! Luther Jackson 7th Grade Curriculum Night Information
FCPS Meal Distribution, January 22-January 26
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is committed to providing all students access to meals during the week of January 18-26 where there are two school holidays and one student holiday/teacher workday. The following plan will be in place for next week:
Monday (1/25)
Tuesday (1/26)
- Resume regular meal service
Meals will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
