The Many Faces of BMP

Ms. Park

Ms. Jay Park was born in Korea and came to the United States when she was in fourth grade. Ms. Davis, her fifth grade teacher inspired her to become a teacher and she followed her dream ever since! Ms. Park recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at George Mason University and she is very excited to be at Bren Mar Park and teach for her very first year!

Need Technology help?

We remind families that there are a variety of resources available for you to use to support you in fixing technology issues that do not require you to make an appointment to come into the school.  First, we have the technology support for families website available through FCPS which has video tutorials to help fix problems such as mics or cameras not working.  Second, our School Based Technology Specialist, Mrs. Jess Russell, has put together a technology assistance flowchart that walks you through step-by-step guides.  As you move through the flowchart, you will also communicate everything that you have already done so that our technology team can better support you should you need to make an appointment.

Congratulations!

We are so thrilled to congratulate the following employees on their nominations for

Bren Mar Park Outstanding Employee!

Specialists Spotlight

Spotlight on Advanced Academics

This month we have been focusing on the critical and creative skill Questioning.  Questioning is the process of actively clarifying, exploring, challenging, and assess the understanding of ideas.  Using questioning when reading a book helps us to better understand what we are reading.   Students thought about questions like: What would it be like if…? What would happen if…? Which is better ____ or ____?

At home connection

At home you could think about something you are passionate about and think about some questions for your topic:

Questions to think about....

What is the purpose of...?

What would change if...?

What would happen if...?

How would it be different if...?

Extension Idea...

Research some of your own wonderings to see if you can find an answer.
