Message from the Principal

Langley HS

Greetings Saxons,

We have finally made it to the last school day of 2020. This has definitely been a year like no other.  I thank each of you for the flexibility and grace you have extended as our school staff has worked to meet the needs of all students during this difficult time. The community support has been so appreciated and helped to make our current reality so much easier to bear.

While we are separated physically, our students have continued to shine. Our Model UN and Science Olympiad clubs have continued to perform at very high levels of competition. Langley orchestra’s film composers virtual concert highlighted the outstanding talents of our students. Choir students wowed the audience during their fall virtual concert. We are so fortunate to have gifted musicians as part of our school community.

Additionally, I am thrilled to congratulate those Saxons who were recently inducted into the National Honor Society. Congratulations to the students and their families. Saxon Country is so proud of you.

Before I close, there are a couple of housekeeping items. First of all, after break, we will be working to transition to in person learning beginning on January 26. To support this effort, office hours will be teacher-optional beginning January 4. If your student needs to meet with a teacher, please contact the teacher to schedule an appointment.

It is my sincere hope that students will be able to disconnect from school and have time to engage in family activities and traditions. To assist students with finding balance, teachers have been asked to assign no new work over the break. It has been requested that no assignments be due before January 7, 2021.

May this holiday season bring each of you peace and joy. I wish each of you much happiness, prosperity and good health in the new year.

Fondly,

3
