Student Support or Catch-up Days

The following days have been designated “catch-up” or student support days for MVHS:  January 13 and 14, 2021. Catch up days are one of FCPS’ division wide supports, to help address the concerns of students feeling overwhelmed and stressed about the workload this school year. Each school has been asked to build two “catch up” or student support days into each quarter for the rest of the school year.

On these support days, students will login to their classes, teachers will take attendance, but there will be no new instruction.

  • Students can use the days to work on assignments and meet with teachers to get support during their class period.
  • Students can use this time to get organized, work independently or in groups, make up assignments, get additional help.

Teachers can also engage students in conferences and academic conversations about courses for next year.  (Counselors will begin meeting with juniors to plan for next year starting February 2nd.)

Winter Break is Homework-Free

As we approach our Winter Break, we want to again encourage you to disconnect from school, work and technology. Teachers will not require work to be due the first two full days back to school and teachers will not give any major assessments the first two full days back to school.

We hope you and your family find ways to enjoy one another, have fun and recharge for the second half of the year.

Lunch Bunch Wednesday's

In order to provide an outlet for students and build in opportunities for them to connect with one another, we are starting “Lunch Bunch Wednesday's”.  All students are welcome and wanted!  Encourage your children to take a break from academics and come hang out with us every Wednesday from 11:15am-11:45am.  Just go to google classroom and use the join code:  wjl7hri
