Dear Community Partner

Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) is in the beginning stages of developing an ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan which aims to understand and plan for how people travel and access destinations and services by biking, walking, rolling (scooter/wheelchair/stroller), hiking, running and riding in and around their local community and throughout the county. FCDOT wants to know what challenges people are currently experiencing or observing as they actively travel and highlight what improvements they would like to see in the future with safe, convenient and comfortable active travel in mind.

We would like to invite you, or a representative from your organization, to participate in this process as a member of the ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan Community Advisory Group (CAG) to help build community trust and support for the planning process, and assist in empowering the community to provide input while making sure that every voice is heard. We are looking for big and small ideas alike, and are excited to have you help us get there! We are also very much looking forward to aligning our planning efforts with the One Fairfax equity policy every step of the way. Nicole Wynands, the ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan project manager shares more about the ActiveFairfax Transportation Plan process in this brief video – please take a look!

Please let us know if you or someone else from your organization is able to serve in this very important advisory group by sharing your availability. We request that you let us know your availability by Dec. 15, 2020. The group will meet quarterly over the course of the plan development process to provide input and advise the planning team.

Thank you in advance for your support of this effort and we look forward to hearing from. If you have any questions, please let me know!

All the best,

Robin P. Geiger
