Student Survey Coming in December

Dear Parent or Guardian,

The Robinson Middle School Counseling Department is continuing to work diligently to support our students as we meet the challenges of Virtual Education.  One of Robinson’s core goals is to provide an environment that is welcoming, accepting, and inclusive.  As we continue with this goal in mind, we are seeking information from our students to see how we are doing.  Your student will be asked to complete a short survey in their class in December and then again in the Spring of 2021.  This will be done through a Google Form.  The students will be asked to rank the following statements using a Likert Scale (a scale from 1 through 5 where 1 is strongly disagree; 2-disagree 3; neither agree or disagree; 4-agree and 5-strongly agree):

  1. Overall, I feel welcome in the Robinson Community.
  2. I feel involved in the Robinson Community.
  3. I can make connections with classmates, teachers, and other Robinson staff members.

Please feel free to contact your child’s Middle School Counselor if you have any questions.

Season Of Giving Gift Card Donation Request

Hello Robinson Community,

As the holiday season approaches, we are asking for your help in collecting gift cards for families in our school and community that need a little extra support, especially at the holidays.

Winter holidays:

Many of our students are too old to be referred for angel tree programs and teenagers are often overlooked.

We are requesting your help with providing gift cards to Giant, Safeway, Target, Amazon, and Walmart to give to families.

Gift cards can be dropped off in the Robinson main doors (Entrance 1) with the security officers or you may mail them to:

Robinson Secondary School

c/o Social Workers

5035 Sideburn Rd

Fairfax, VA 22032

Cards will be distributed by our social workers.  This will take some planning, so if you drop them off by December 11, it would be appreciated.

Gift cards not distributed at the holidays are used throughout the year to help families with emergent basic needs.

If you would be so kind as to indicate the amount of money on the gift cards that would be very helpful!

Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Christyn Levy and Kristen Licciardo (your social work team)
