Principal's Message - 11/21/20

Good Afternoon Stone Parents and Families, 

I am truly honored and humbled to be the new principal of Stone Middle School. As a former Stone panther, I am so excited to return “home” to serve this amazing community. I pride myself on creating a “home away from home” environment in which family, student success and growth are always at the forefront. As we continue in these uncertain times, I offer you my unwavering commitment and dedication as your leader.  

Over the last six weeks, I have really enjoyed meeting our students, staff, parents and families. It certainly is a challenge to do most of this in a virtual setting. However, it is so important opportunities continue to be provided for our students and parents/families to keep the lines of communication open. To that end, after Thanksgiving break, I will hold several Principal’s Office Hours for parents and families. I recognize it is hard to find a time that works for everyone, so I will hold two morning and two evening sessions. This will be an opportunity for me to share any new information, as well as for you to ask questions. A link will be sent out after the Thanksgiving holiday break.  Additionally, I am so excited to begin virtual Student Lunch Bunches for our students. I will post a link for students to access in Schoology. 

As I have shared in my previous principal’s newsletters, one of my favorite parts each week is observing classes and having the opportunity to recognize our students. In spite of the challenges, I am so proud of our students who continue to show up and engage in their classes. The Portrait of a Panther winners for the week of 11/16 are: Welled Ahmed, Reicher Bikowski, Kylie Brown, Madison Healy, Daniel Lee, Rafael Martinez-Ventura, Ryan McGuinn, David Mehani, Aiyana Pippen and Hassan Shaeldein.

A reminder that Monday (11/23) is the usual check-in and office hours, and Tuesday (11/24) is an odd day. There is no school Wednesday (11-25) through Friday (11-27) for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you for all you do to support your children and our school. I wish each of you a peaceful and relaxing holiday break.

Student Individual Pictures on December 7 and 8

We will have Lifetouch photographers at Stone on Monday, December 7 and Tuesday, December 8 to take individual student portraits. 

• Monday, December 7 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Tuesday, December 8 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Please use this Sign Up Genius to select a day and time for your student’s photo. 

Lifetouch staff, Stone staff, and students will adhere to social distancing and recommended health/safety procedures outlined by the health department.  All students upon arrival to Stone will complete the Covid Health Screening Questionnaire (or may bring it completed) and will have their temperature taken. A mask is required for all staff and students to participate in the event.  Parents/Guardians will wait in their cars until their student returns.
