Dear Haycock Families,

We wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.  Thank you for your unwavering support of our staff.  We will continue to communicate any new information to you regarding the FCPS plan for return of students to the building. When our students are able to safely return to Haycock, we'll be ready!  In the meantime, our staff members are focusing their efforts on providing high quality virtual instruction for all our students.

FCPS Health Metrics

The anticipated return of our Kindergarten students this past week was put on pause due to the health metrics for our region.  For a group of students to be brought safely into the building, the rate of new COVID cases for our area must remain below 200 per 100,000 residents, and the rate of positivity must remain below 8%.   Both metrics must remain this way for 7 consecutive calendar days.

As of yesterday, the metrics for our area were this:

238.9 per 100,000 new cases of COVID

7.2% positivity rate

Families can check the daily COVID metrics here

Monday and Tuesday, 11/23 and 11/24

Teacher planning days scheduled for next week will be rescheduled for later dates.  Monday, 11/23, will be a normal Monday, remaining a day for small groups from 9-12.  Tuesday, 11/24, will be a teacher directed virtual day for students.
