PTSA UPDATES:

PTSA Meeting – November 9th:  Please join us for our virtual membership meeting on Monday, November 9th, 6:30-8pm. Our very own Ms. Carter, College and Career Specialist, will be with us and has invited a college admissions colleague to join us, as well - Luis Portillo.  Luis is the Assistant Director-DC & Virginia Regional, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, University of Delaware.  He is also very active with state, regional and national admissions organizations and is well versed in current trends in college admissions.  Ms. Carter and Mr. Portillo will do their best to answer all your questions about the college admissions process for grades 9-12.  A Zoom link will be emailed to current PTSA members and the meeting will be shown live on the West Potomac PTSA Facebook page.  Submit questions in advance by email to ptsa.westpotomac@gmail.com

Speaking of PTSA emails…PTSA members, please check your email inbox carefully. About 30-40% of our messages to our membership via our MemberHub web platform are going unopened.  We are all getting bombarded with emails these days.  We don’t want you to miss out on important PTSA info and meeting details.  Thank you for being a member!  We are always welcoming new members.  For membership questions, contact our Membership Chair, Libby Meares, mearesteam@gmail.com

First Quarter Honor Roll Celebrations!  They are happening!  We will still be celebrating our Rising Stars, All-A and All A/B honor roll students for the first quarter of 2020. We usually distribute doughnuts for the Rising Stars and All-A students and, of course, everyone loved the Moe's Chip/Queso/Guac bar at lunch for the A/B students. Unfortunately, we will not be able to host that this quarter.  Instead, we will hold raffles of $5 gift cards for each group. Please help - We are asking for donations towards purchasing the gift cards so we will have as many as possible to increase everyone's chance of winning something. We usually have over 800 students on the all A and A/B Honor Roll every quarter!  We are asking for monetary donations instead of actual cards this time to minimize contact with the cards and each other dropping things off.

Please consider donating online through our PTSA MemberHub store site: https://westpotomacptsa.new.memberhub.store/store.  All donations made will be used for the first quarter gift card raffles which will be held later in November.  If you have any questions, please contact Sandy Bodner at spbodner@yahoo.com.
