Principals' Message

Happy Sunday, Freedom Hill Community!

We hope that you are enjoying these chilly Fall days! We have had the opportunity to sit in on several parent-teacher conferences over the past few days and are so grateful to have such a supportive community as we navigate through these unprecedented times. We are working hard to finalize schedules and class assignments for our Pre-kindergartners, Kindergartners, 1st Graders, and 2nd Graders as we transition into a combination of 100% virtual learning and the concurrent learning model (2 days/week in-school, 2 days/week concurrent).

We will communicate any changes to class rosters and schedules as soon as possible.  We are trying our best to limit teacher changes. Please know that our staff is exceptional and that they’ll be ready to establish great relationships with new students and build joyful, new classroom cultures. All of our teachers are members of a grade level team. They plan lessons together, solve problems together, and advocate for kids together. We are confident that a new teacher, should your child have one, will continue the great work her/his teammate has started this Fall.

Changes to classes may be necessary due to the many factors involved in shifting to an in-person program for approximately half of our students.  We must honor all parent choices while at the same time protecting staff members with health conditions or with other circumstances that make working from home necessary. We will ensure that siblings are scheduled to attend school in-person on the same days. We appreciate your patience and flexibility.

Wishing you safe week,

Positivity Project - Bravery

tyv

This week, we are focusing on Bravery. You act with mental, moral, or physical strength even when you know things are difficult or scary.

“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’ ”

                                         ~Mary Anne Radmacher

Questions you might enjoy talking about:

  • What are some situations that may call for bravery?
  • What are the differences between moral, mental, and physical bravery?
  • Why is it sometimes difficult to be brave?
