Dear Parents and Guardians:
As a follow up to yesterday's town hall meeting, I am providing the following responses:
Q1: If more students are at a bus stop than can be safely transported will the students be denied access to the bus?
A1: This should not occur, so the answer is no. The transportation routing staff assigns students to buses according to the bus' capacity. Up to 23 students can be assigned to the large capacity buses at 1 student per seat. Siblings are permitted to sit together which will increase approved capacity.
Q2: Will Westfield have a freshman and new student orientation prior to the return to school?
A2: Yes.
Q3: Since bus capacity is limited and to encourage students to drive to school, can FCPS suspend the parking fee for the 2020-2021 school year?
A3: The request has been forwarded.
