Good Evening Families,
We are excited to share that our teachers will be meeting in teams next week to review student data. The purpose of the grade level data meetings is to review students’ data by name and need to determine what intervention(s) might need to be put into place to close student gaps.
Our Instructional Coaches, Math and Reading Specialists will be in attendance to help create plans for student interventions and provide support with resources. This best practice will allow us to dig deeper and help guide instruction to meet individual students’ needs.

 Hello my name is Mitra Ghandeharizadeh, the new part-time School Counselor. This is my 4th year serving students as a School Counselor and my first year at Cameron! As a School Counselor I am able to support students individually, in small groups and within the classroom setting. I work with students to help develop social-emotional skills such as self-awareness, understanding and managing emotions, forming positive relationships with others, responsible decision making and various other topics. What are the metrics that determine if FCPS changes their operating status?
Core Indicators
1.Number of new cases per 100,000 persons within the last 14 days
2.Percentage of RT-PCR tests that are positive during the last 14 days
3.Ability of the school to implement five (5) key mitigation strategies: masks, social distancing, hand/hygiene/respiratory etiquette, cleaning & disinfecting, and contact tracing
What is the current state of the ventilation/air filtration inside the school building and classrooms?
FCPS follows WHO, CDC and Virginia Health Department guidance to reduce the risk for exposure to coronavirus. Schools are designed to ventilate outdoor air throughout the day to reduce the buildup of pollutants and odors. Maintenance staff routinely conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, to ensure the systems are clean and working optimally. FCPS also follows guidance provided by industry experts. FCPS works closely with the Fairfax County Health Department (FCHD) to stay informed of the most up-to-date scientific knowledge and data available to help staff and the community better prepare for returning to school.

- The Parent Technology Help Desk (toll free) at 833-921-3277 is available for technical support questions about online parent accounts, your student’s FCPS laptop, or your student’s online applications.
- If there is a problem with your Cameron issued laptop, you may enter a support request ticket via the Parent and Student IT Portal.
- FCPS' Parent Technology Resource page includes tip sheets in multiple languages that provide answers to basic questions about FCPS technologies.
- FCPS’ YouTube channel has videos on basic technology topics that highlight some of the key FCPS tools, such as Google and Blackboard. These videos are designed to provide solutions for quick, simple questions.
- Broader inquiries about FCPS programs or resources for families may be directed to the Parent Resource Center at 703-204-3941, or use one of our eight Parent Information Phone Lines for information in multiple languages.
