Spirit Day at BUpper!!!

Students have been working hard to earn virtual Tiger Paws for their class by showing strong digital citizenship in their online classes. This week at Bailey’s Upper we reached our next school wide goal of 20 Tiger Paws to earn our second spirit day of the year!  We will celebrate Jersey Day on Friday, October 30th.  Students may participate by wearing their favorite sports team jersey or shirt.  Students may also show their school spirit by wearing Bailey’s Upper gear!

Bailey's Winter Coat Drive

Believe it or not, cold weather is right around the corner!  Bailey's Primary and Bailey's Upper will be offering families the opportunity to receive new winter coats, hats, and gloves for their children.  If you would like to request winter gear for your child, please complete this online Coat Referral Form (English) / Coat Referral Form (Spanish) no later than December 1st.  Paper forms will also be available at Primary's meal distribution site beginning the week of October 26th.  Families also have the opportunity to be considered to receive gift cards to purchase food and gifts during the upcoming holiday season. Information about distribution dates will be sent in the next few weeks once we have a better idea of the number of families in need. If you need assistance in completing the form, please contact the school.

Library Books

Are your students tired of reading everything online? Are they ready to borrow some books to read? Head on over to the public library!

The public libraries are open and the Library Equity Access Pass (LEAP) allows all FCPS students to borrow books from any Fairfax County Public Library by using their name and school. The library will use the FCPS student ID to check out the books

Library

  • During the school year, students can check out up to 3 books at a time from any Fairfax County Public Library with LEAP. No library card is needed.
  • No fees are charged for late or lost books. However, if books are not returned, students will not be able to borrow more books on their LEAP account.
  • This account is only for checking out books in person from the library. If a student would like to borrow ebooks through Overdrive, they should apply for a standard library card.
  • To get a standard library card, go to Register for a New Library Account online to receive a temporary library card number by email. To get a permanent standard library card, please visit any FCPL branch within three weeks after your online card application.  Photo ID and proof of address are needed to complete the application process.
