Robinson Receives 2020 College Success Award

greatschools

We are proud to announce that Robinson Secondary School has received the GreatSchools.org’ 2020 College Success Award!

The College Success Award recognizes and celebrates high schools, like ours, that demonstrate excellence in ensuring students are prepared to succeed in college.

Robinson is one of 2,158 schools in 29 states across the country to be honored with the Award, which is based on data indicating how our school prepares students to succeed after high school, including whether they enroll in college, are ready for college-level coursework when they get there, and persist into their second year. See the full list of winners from Virginia and watch videos about promising practices at high schools across the country at https://www.greatschools.org/gk/csa-winners/.

We applaud the hard work of the entire Robinson community—including students, parents, teachers, and others that aspire to help our students succeed in college and beyond. Congratulations on receiving the 2020 College Success Award!

Go Paperless

Action Requested: Help save trees and FCPS $$ on postage by opting in to receive “Paperless” Report Cards (that can be printed through ParentVUE)
Parents/Guardians may opt into “Go Paperless” for report cards by following the below instructions:

• Parents/Guardians can take advantage of the paperless option, by logging into ParentVUE, then going to “My Account” and selecting "Go Paperless!". This is the only way to keep a paper report card from being generated for students at the secondary level. All parents who share the same address as the student must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option. See photo below.

Arena Stage Voices Of Now Program

arena

Create a film under the direction of teaching artists from Arena Stage! Voices of Now (VON) films are fast paced, collaboratively written physical pieces that pose challenging social questions relevant to the ensemble of artists and their communities. This year the film will investigate those questions through poetry, music, art, movement, and the recounting of the artists’ personal stories. One of the primary goals of the Voices of Now program is to create positive change. It's your voice we want to hear! Ensemble meets weekly from Nov. to mid-May.

View sizzle reel from last year's movie!

Attend the workshop on Wednesday, 10/28 at 3:30pm to meet the directors and learn about the application process. Join the VON classroom!
