The end of the first quarter is right around the corner! While we are using a “rolling gradebook,” this is an excellent time to reflect on assignments.
Please encourage your child to check his or her SIS StudentVUE account to verify grades and see where assignments are missing. Teachers are ready to support students as they demonstrate their learning!
Go Paperless - Report Cards
Parents and/or guardians can now opt to “Go Paperless” in ParentVUE and receive only online report cards.
This will not impact any other mailings from FCPS other than the report cards for secondary students and progress reports for ES students.
To take advantage of the paperless options, BOTH parents and/or guardians will need to log into ParentVUE, then go to “My Account” and select "Go Paperless." All parents who live with the student and share the same address must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option to prevent mailing of the printed report cards.
The “Go Paperless” option will apply to all their associated students, no matter what school level.

Poe Library
Students who have put books on hold from the Poe Middle School library should check their fcpsschools.net accounts. Information about pick-up locations and times will be shared. In addition to picking up books from our library, students can also return any overdue library books from last year. Each pick-up location will have a return box for overdue books. Thanks, and happy reading!

To clear up some confusion, you may only participate in 1 club during a block. For example if I signed up for Poe Minds Matter, then I can only participate in that club during the time the club meets (Wednesday from 3:45-4:45).
ALL INTERESTED IN POETRY, PLEASE SIGN UP ASAP!
Description below:
Poetry/Spoken Word - Your words matter. Your thoughts, your ideas, your opinions matter. Your VOICE matters. Join me and your fellow classmates in the exploration of everything in the world around us. In poetry club, we’ll explore our thoughts in everything from our favorite sports to our favorite food, our funniest memory to our most painful one. In poetry club, we learn to connect our thoughts so the page itself feels our emotions. This is not your ordinary Poetry Club. We’ll explore poems from the past and poems of today to learn their impact on the world. And, we’ll write our own poems to leave our own impact on the world. Whether you want to write a poem for social justice or a poem for a broken heart, in Poetry Club we’ll learn to work words into artistic masterpieces.
Please reach out if you have any questions at pgharsh@fcps.edu
