We are sad to announce the departure of our very own, Mrs. Jenny Lim, student information attendant. She will be moving to another state with her family, and she will continue to be with us through Friday, October 30, 2020. We wish her the best on her new adventure and she will forever be a valued part of our Bren Mar Park school community.
And, starting Monday, November 2, 2020, we are excited to welcome our new student information attendant, Dorian Esteban. She comes with office experience in an FCPS middle school, is committed to supporting students and families, and is bilingual in both English and Spanish. Please help us welcome her as she joins the Bren Mar Park team!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Williams
Principal

Bren Mar Park is a Title 1 school. Title 1 funds pass from the federal government through the state and school district to reach individual schools. Bren Mar Park uses Title 1 funding to improve services through professional development for effective instruction, purchasing high quality instructional materials, providing opportunities for home connections and school readiness, as well support interventions and enrichments for our students. Come and join a Parent Information Session to learn more about Bren Mar Park as a Title 1 school on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The guest link will be shared in an email to parents just prior to the start of the session.
Any person over the age of 2 is expected to wear a face covering, such as a face mask, while in the school building or while on school property, including outside of the school building. This applies to events such as school supply pick up or food distribution. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call the front office. Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone as safe as possible during these times!
- COVID-19 can be spread to others even if you do not feel sick.
- A face mask is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.
- Everyone should wear a face mask in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household. Masks, along with social distancing, should be practiced in combination with other everyday preventive actions to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
- Face masks should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.
- Do NOT use a mask meant for a healthcare worker. Currently, surgical masks and N95 respirators are critical supplies that should be reserved for healthcare workers and other first responders.
- Continue to keep feet between yourself and others. A face mask is not a substitute for social distancing
Virtual Learning Tech Tips: Accessing 24-7 Learning: Parent View
FCPS has created some student friendly 'how to' videos for distance learning. We will share this series of videos here. Our next video goes over how to access your parent SIS account once you have created your log-in. Having this account is helpful to see academic updates for you student and to complete important online documents. Please take a moment to watch this video with your Mustang.
The Parent Technology Help Desk is available at 1-833-921-3277, open from 7 a.m.to 11 p.m., seven days a week. Parents or guardians who need help in a language other than English, interpreters are available and FCPS also has parent information phone lines, available in eight different languages.
The online portal allows older students and parents/guardians to request help directly. Please use this to submit help request tickets to help you faster!
Limited BMP Technology Team support is available by appointment only and only on select days and times. We ask that you submit a ticket first, however if you feel you need an in-person appointment, please call the BMP front office during regular school hours to schedule an appointment.

PE Spotlight:
It has been a busy month in PE class! Students have been up and moving for at least 25 minutes each class period. This week we are beginning to incorporate more Zumba style activities to pair with a number of different dances. This variety has been a positive for students as they get to try a lot of fun new ways to be active! The “Cha-Cha Slide” and “Follow the Leader” dances have been the favorites for students. Between PE class and PE clubs, students have gotten the chance to dance, perform various circuit workouts, learn some Zumba, Yoga, as well as Tabata style workouts. We are looking forward to keeping the kids active in a safe and fun way during virtual learning!
Thanks!
