School Spirit Week
Next week our school will hold their first Spirit Week of the year! While the themes are fun and enjoyable, we are sneaking some of our Positivity Characteristics into the week as well. We will be sending this out for this Thursday’s Panther Press. Please include in your class newsletters as well.
Monday, October 26
Matching Monday
Wear an outfit to match a friend or group of friends, teacher, family member, or even a favorite stuffed animal! Be sure to think about teamwork when working with others to plan this outfit.
Tuesday, October 27
Color Team Tuesday
Wear the colors that represent your grade level or team! You may want to include accessories of your team’s color to really show your excitement. Think about how you work as a team with friends and teachers on your grade level. Remember that every person you see wearing a color today is your teammate and here to help you have the best time at Spring Hill.
Grade Level Colors are as follows:
6 – white
5 – orange
4 – yellow
3 – green
2 – blue
1 – purple
K – red
Staff members may join a team of their choosing OR wear as many colors of the rainbow as possible. We are ALL of the colors!
Wednesday, October 28
Stuffed Animal Wednesday
We all feel better with a buddy or teammate close by. While we can’t be at school working with our friends and classmates close by, we can invite a stuffed animal to join classes today! Be ready to share your stuffed animal in Morning Meeting so all your friends can meet them!
Thursday, October 29
Spooky Thursday
You may dress in attire that you feel is spooky – within reason. No masks, blood, or weapons will be permitted (fake or real). Remember spooky isn’t the same as scary, it may be as simple as something that gives you a creepy crawly feeling, like bugs, broccoli, or that sneaky feeling when a rain drop falls down the back of your shirt! Be creative with your outfit today.
Friday, October 30
Costume Friday
Wear your favorite creative costume for school today! Be ready to take a picture on your computer if you would like to share your costume OR you may share your picture on Twitter with the help or permission of your family. Be sure to use the hashtag #SpringHillFallFest and to tag our school accounts @LibrarySpring and @SpringHillFCPS so we can share your pictures with our community.
3rd Grade Recorder Purchasing & Pickup Information
The Fairfax County Program of Studies recommends introducing the soprano recorder at the third-grade level and continuing its use in the General Music program through the sixth-grade level. The recorder is a genuine musical instrument capable of producing good tone quality. Because it is relatively easy to play, each child has the opportunity to experience success.
Please CLICK HERE for more information about purchasing your child's recorder and our curbside recorder pickup on November 2nd.
Please order through “My School Bucks” by Thursday, October 28
The Liya Ensemble
On Wednesday, October 14th, members of the Liya Ensemble met in the Fu’s back yard to perform a socially-distanced concert. They were invited by the Virginia Music Educators Association to perform at their Virtual Conference from November 19th through 21st. Mrs. Donahue is thrilled that they’ll represent Spring Hill Elementary School.
