NO School for Students on Monday, October 12
As a reminder, Monday, October 12, is a school planning day and a student holiday. Teachers will participate in a variety of professional development and planning activities and will not be available for office hours. Students are not expected to complete asynchronous assignments on this student holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 13.

Masks are Required in FCPS Schools and on Grounds
Dear Community,
Please don't forget to wear your masks when coming to Herndon Elementary. This is a reminder that masks are required for everyone over age 2, not only in schools, but anywhere on FCPS school grounds.
 "Thank you!" to Andrea Karalyos (left), a realtor at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in Reston, for their generous book donation to our library this week. Our librarian Ms. Richardson (right) has been tirelessly working at our school and in our Herndon neighborhoods to provide access to every student and foster a love of books within our hearts. This donation will help her reach more students by stocking titles that are in demand. Thank you, ladies, for all you have done this year!

Fall Club Registration is Open
Book Club, Chess Bee Academy, and Young Rembrandts are all open for registration now.
We are working out the details for a wide range of offerings for our new Music Club, which should be open for registration by the end of the week. Check out https://herndonespta.com/clubs/ for more info and to register. Chess Bee Academy starts next Tuesday, so don't forget to sign up if interested! The other clubs start the following week.
