1.NEW:Student Rights and Responsibilities Form
Parents and guardians, please review the Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) and related resources at www.fcps.edu/srr.
After reviewing the information, you must fill out this form by October 23, 2020 : Click on the link below FCPS 2020-21 Parent and/or Guardian SR&R Acknowledgement
The form must be filled out one time for each student.
2.Advanced Academics Level IV Parent Meetings and Deadlines
Mrs. Wilkins, Fairfax Villa’s Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, will hold parent information meetings on October 13 at 7:00 p.m. and October 19 at 3:00 p.m. Both meetings will include the same information, so families can choose which one best fits their schedule. At these meetings, Mrs. Wilkins will review the levels of service in FCPS and the updated information about the Level IV screening process for this year. Please note there have been several changes to the screening process, including an earlier referral deadline of December 1. 3. NEW: Congratulations to Mr. Flores
We are excited to announce that our very own Mr. Jose Flores was recently chosen as the Region 5 Outstanding School-Based Operational Employee for 2019-2020. As one of the first staff members who families meet with when they come to enroll at Fairfax Villa, Mr. Flores makes each family feel welcome right from the beginning. He continues to assist all students and families in many ways throughout the school year. We are very proud that not only was he chosen as the award winner for our school and the Woodson Pyramid but also that he will now go on to represent Region 5 for the FCPS Outstanding School-Based Operational Employee Award. Congratulations and thank you for all you do, Mr. Flores!
 4.Technology News
- If you are having any problems with the laptop you were issued from Fairfax Villa, the first place to go is this parent help website. It has troubleshooting ideas for everything from finding your child’s google account to how to resolve audio/video issues.There is a helpline (833-921-3277) that you can call from 7am to 11pm 7 days a week. If you need a translator for your call, please let them know.
If none of those fix your problems, there is also a link where parents can put in a RequestIT to the FCPS Service Desk. Please do not let your students put in a RequestIT. There are also parent information phone lines in different languages. Please do not contact your child’s teacher about technology problems unless it is a classroom specific issue (i.e. Google classroom code).
- If you do not have internet in your home and would like to learn how to obtain low-cost internet service for qualifying families from Cox, please email our social worker, Maria Marris, at msmarris@fcps.edu.
