Interim Reports for All Students

Classroom teachers will be emailing interims to parents/guardians on Friday, October 8, by 4:30 p.m.  Please remember that these are informal reports from teachers to share current student progress and any areas of concern midway through the quarter and before the official report card is generated. If your child receives 3's, this means your child is performing exactly where he/she needs to be.  It is extremely rare for a child to receive 4's on an interim report, as all standards for the quarter have not yet been taught.

Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R)

Parents and guardians, please review the Student Rights and Responsibilities and related resources at www.fcps.edu/srr.  After reviewing the information, fill out the SR&R Parent Acknowledgement Form using the link below.  This form must be filled out once for each student in your family.  We will also be putting the survey on the Keene Mill website for families to complete. Please complete the form at this link: https://forms.gle/tWZo7683Gnt9ya3i7

Parent Tip: Creating and Using Schedules

During distance learning children may get distracted, overwhelmed, or have difficulty staying focused on the tasks. Using a schedule with children can help:

  • Establish routines and expectations
  • Break the day or even an activity into manageable parts
  • Provide support with transitioning from one activity to another
  • Minimize resistance to less-preferred activities
  • Foster self-confidence and responsibility
  • Support independence

Parents, guardians, and caregivers can use the schedule template at this link with the child.  Keep the schedule simple and concise, display in the learning area that is accessible by the child. Children can also cross off or place a check when an item/ task is completed. Most importantly involve the child in the planning and reviewing of the schedule.

Does your child want extra time each week to make music and play games? He/she can join Music Club with Ms. Boyars and Mrs. Zargarpur!

PTA

Join the KMES PTA!

The PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

PTA Membership is easy, low cost, and open to anyone. The number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Association is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help your school, but there are more PTA advantages. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school, and the PTA provides opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, build relationships, and discuss issues that are important to you.  As a PTA member, you will also have access to a digital school directory that will provide contact information for students in your child's class.

To become a PTA member, visit the KMES PTA Membership page at Keenemillpta.ptboard.com. The cost of membership is $15.76 for a family and $10.61 for an individual (includes online processing fee).
