BMP Spirit Days in Support of Our Kindergartners Learning Colors

A Message from the Principal

This is an important reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Monday, October 12, 2020 in honor of Indigenous Peoples Day.  Our fantastic teachers, instructional assistants and other members of the Bren Mar Park staff will be involved in school planning, focusing on refining instructional practices and designing intervention in a virtual platform.  Starting on Monday, October 19, 2020, students involved in small group instruction will be doing so in order to receive intervention, or additional learning and practice, on Mondays in small group.  Even if your child is not assigned small group instruction, she/he will have assigned tasks as part of the school day.  Please don't hesitate to ask your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Williams

Specialist Spotlights

Hi Families,

This is your librarian, Mrs. Watson!  I’m excited to welcome you back to the school library!  Even though we are learning virtually, the library has a wealth of resources for your child.  To begin, please go to the Library Website and bookmark this page:  https://sites.google.com/fcpsschools.net/bmpeslibrary/home  From this page, your child can access the library catalog, find how-to videos to help you get print materials and ebooks, and there are learning sites, read alouds and oodles of other resources!  This website is constantly being updated, so please check back often.

Even though we have lots of virtual resources, sometimes you just want to hold a book in your hand.  We have started Curbside Checkout so that your child can borrow print materials from our library.  Every other week, your child can put 5 books on hold and pick them up in front of our school on Wednesday or from your bus stop on Thursday.  Check the Library Website’s Curbside Checkout page for more information.  There is a document there with more details, a bus schedule, and a calendar to help you know exactly when to do things.  And, as always, you can reach me at clwatson@fcps.edu if you have questions.  Happy Reading!
