Did You Know… As the shorter days and colder months are rolling in Seasonal Affect Disorder (SAD) symptoms begin. Robert Weiss, PhD., MSW, from Psychology Today writes “What happens when SAD occurs in conjunction with other forms of depression, especially the situational depression we’re currently seeing related to the COVID-19 pandemic, political strife, large-scale fires, hurricanes, racial divides, and other major societal issues?” This is uncharted territory and self-care is more important than ever. What are the options?

Keep Your Laptop Healthy

Never leave laptops plugged in and unsupervised for long periods of time, like overnight.  It is best to always use laptops on surfaces that allow for proper ventilation like a desk or table. Prolonged charging and limited ventilation can damage the battery, the operating systems and cause the machine to shut down completely.

Additional Tips:

  • Shut down the laptop every day after use
  • Use and store the laptop in an area that is free from dust, extreme heat, cold, or humidity
  • Restart the laptop several times per week.
