As always, please feel free to reach out to me or any member of our admin team if you have any questions.

Prior to coming, please answer the following health questions below.  If you answer “yes” to any questions, do not come to the school.  We will schedule another time for you to come.

On October 5 between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm, we will be distributing a kit of art materials for students in all of our Visual Arts classes at Justice HS. If your student has any of the teachers listed below, they will have a kit to pick up on October 5th.

Ms. Augustine/Ms. Liu

Mr. Fitzgerald

Ms. Martin

Ms. Nast

Ms. Wallestad

These materials will be distributed from outside of Door 3 (to the far left of the main entrance) at the curb (see image below). Please stay in your car. Students (or parent/guardian) should hold up a piece of paper with the student’s complete name.  A staff member will then retrieve the student’s schedule and bring the materials out to the curb for their art class.  We ask that anyone coming to the school wear a mask.

Before coming to the school, please ask yourself the health questions above.  If you answer “yes” to any of the questions we will accommodate another way to get your materials.

The Student Rights and Responsibilities document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable and supportive school environment. We ask that you use this document as a framework for discussing these expectations with your child or teen so that he or she is well prepared for success when the school year begins. You will also find that this publication includes information that you may need throughout the school year, including contact numbers and other resources.

Testing Information

PSAT for 11th Grade Students – October 29, 2020

On Thursday, October 29, Justice High School eleventh graders will have the opportunity to take the PSAT/NMSQT. FCPS will cover the cost for any eleventh grade student to take this test. To help the school prepare for testing, families are asked to complete the form below by Friday, October 9. This form asks about participation in the test, the need or bus transportation, and interest in free breakfast or lunch on the day of the test. Students will only be able to access this form using their @fcpsschools.net accounts.

Justice High School: PSAT/NMSQT Intent to Participate Form  (https://forms.gle/Fvs6nJitqmGFuvyk8)

A translated version of the form content may be found on the PSAT/NMSQT Intent webpage (https://www.fcps.edu/node/42099). Due to health and safety protocols, FCPS sites cannot accept walk-ins on the day of the exam.

General information about the PSAT/NMSQT test format is available on the College Board webpage (https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10). Thursday, October 29 has been designated for asynchronous learning in FCPS high schools, so students who choose to take the PSAT/NMSQT will not miss synchronous learning time with their teachers.

We will share more details about test day schedules and bus transportation in the coming weeks. FCPS health and safety protocols for PSAT/NMSQT administration are available online (https://www.fcps.edu/node/41891).

If you have questions about the PSAT/NMSQT administration at Justice High School, please contact Shelley Terry at sdterry@fcps.edu or 703-824-3998.

Want your picture in the yearbook?

This school year is going to be different. We all know this.

We want to preserve as much as we can for our students and that includes the yearbook. This will be a keepsake to be enjoyed for years to come.

We need you!

Please send us pictures of your students and their friends! We will be asking for pictures representing a different topic, from pets to pajamas and everything in between.

Here’s how:

  1. Email your stories and pictures to justicehighyearbook@gmail.com
  2.  Upload the pictures yourself! On a browser: visit www.HJeShare.com and enter school code #4118.
    1. Enter your information, browse and select images from your computer, enter a description, and upload!

Lost and Found Items

If your student has any items from the 2019-20 school year that may be in our Lost and Found, please email Michelle Campiglia at mrcampiglia@fcps.edu by Friday, October 9. Any unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity organization.

Teacher Absences

Per FCPS, subs will not be provided for 3 days or fewer of a teacher’s absence. If your child’s teacher will be out for 3 days or fewer, you can expect the teacher to post a message in Google Classroom and provide asynchronous work. If a teacher will be out for 4 or more days, FCPS will then provide a sub and synchronous classes resume on the 4th day. Thank you for your patience as we improve our systems in this new learning environment.

Attendance Procedures

If your student is unable to attend the live synchronous classes (your child is sick, has a doctor’s appointment, or is experiencing connectivity issues), please call our Attendance Line at 703-824-3920 (Spanish line is 703-824-8970).  You may also email us at Justicehigh.attendance@fcps.edu .  If you have a general question, you may also contact the main office at 703-824-3900.
