GBE Teachers are working so hard for our students this year (as always!) And sometimes they find themselves wishing for additional resources to help expand on the education our kiddos receive. This year, the PTA is asking teachers to inform us if/when they have Amazon wish lists or DonorsChoose websites! To help support them, you can peruse their lists here: gbepta.org/teachers

Last Night’s GBE Forum with Mr. Pietzman
Mr. Pietzman held a GBE Forum last night (September 17). These meetings are very relaxed—and they’re also full of great questions and information! If you missed it, you can catch the recording here.

PTA Lifetime Achievement Award
Congratulations to our current vice president, Roxanne Bristol, for receiving the National PTA’s Lifetime Achievement Award! Roxanne served as PTA president for two years and has been a driving force in the program’s success! She’s committed, generous, and constantly thinking of how to ensure our students enjoy education and feel a part of a community! It is the opinion of the rest of the board that she’s rarely given enough credit for her hard work and huge heart. Hopefully, this award will go toward the recognition she deserves!
When asked about Roxanne’s role on the PTA, 100% of GBE Community member responses were filled with love and appreciation. Just to highlight a few, Roxanne is known for:
- Her passion about making GBE a great school and her enthusiasm about making important changes that needed to happen.
- Her generosity—with her time and her commitments.
- Her selfless readiness to do all possible and impossible for anyone and everyone.
- Her smile and her willingness to be a part of things just for the kids at GBE.
- The backbreaking effort she puts in for our fall festival specifically so that others don’t have to and can just enjoy the event.
- Her relentlessness to ensure that her children—and all children at GBE—feel safe and welcomed in our community.
Congratulations, Roxanne! We’re so honored to have you in our community!!

The Box Tops Program has gone digital! But if you still save the cut outs, you can drop your collection off at the GBE Curbside Pick-Up this Monday, September 21, from 1-4!

Girl Scout Troop Formation Night
Ms. Shin’s Girl Scout Service Unit is hosting a Troop Formation Night on Monday, Sept. 21 at 7:15pm. It will be a virtual meeting over Zoom for families in the Eagle View, GBE, and Navy ES areas who are interested in joining Girl Scouts.
