Back to School Night

We had two very successful Back to School nights this week. Thank you for “attending” the virtual meetings and seeing how fantastic our teachers are. If you missed the meeting, recordings are posted in Blackboard.  We are off to a great virtual start and appreciate all of your patience and support!

Mondays

Although instruction on Mondays is different than Tuesday- Friday, MONDAY is still a school day. All classrooms will have a brief meeting/check-in, take attendance, and review asynchronous assignments for the day. Some students will also receive small group instruction at different times on Monday mornings.

PTA meeting

The first PTA meeting is Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. will be on BBCU at this link

Mr. Karl Frisch and Ms. Karen Keyes-Gamarra, school board members will attend to discuss the recent school name–change proposal. Mrs. Ashley Dwyer, school counselor will also provide a brief presentation on helping your child to manage stress. Please join us!

Food pick-up

All FCPS students (regardless of age) are eligible for free grab and go breakfast and lunch, as well as other county children, under the age of 18. Adults picking up meals for children should let staff know how many child meals they need. Adults may purchase the meals for $2 as well.

Emergency Care and Health Forms – DUE 9/18/2020

If you haven’t returned your Emergency Care and Health forms yet, we encourage you to use the weCare system to update your contact information instead. WeCare is an emergency care information system, available to FCPS parents and guardians who have registered for their own ParentView account in SIS. WeCare helps manage emergency medical information by enabling parents to enter and update their children’s medical data at their convenience online. Visit this website for more information. Parents are also welcome to drop forms off in the labeled box outside the school doors, or scan and send in an email to MosbyWoodsForms@fcps.edu.

How to request books from the Mosby Woods Library

Students may request library books using Destiny Discover, our online catalog. This video explains the process for holding and picking up books. Please email Mrs. Katzman at mgkatzman@fcps.edu for inquiries related to library book holds, checkouts, and returns.

Parent Information Sessions for AAP Services

All parents are invited to two virtual information sessions about AAP services and the process of screening and identification.  If you are unable to attend, these session recordings will be made available.  If you have any questions, please contact Kristine Choi at kvchoi@fcps.edu.    

  • September 28 at 9:00 am– This session will focus on the continuum of AAP services across K-12.
  • October 13 at 6:00 p.m. – This session will focus on the screening and identification process for full-time, Level IV services.

Both sessions will use the following BBCU link.

*Please note:  The Level IV referral deadline has been set for December 1 this year.
