9/11 Shrevewood Wise Words

Message From Administration

Dear Shrevewood Families,

We did it!  Week one is complete! We wanted to thank you for your patience, your excitement and support. This week was a very big week for all of us! There were a few technology issues first thing today in the morning and a couple slow spots with Google in the middle of the day but for the most part, the week was a huge success. We are also hearing from students and families that it is a long day for children. We are asking that you are patient with our teachers as they work to build stamina within their classes. The last thing we want is to overwhelm children in these first few weeks, so we ask for your patience and flexibility as we get routines and brain breaks built in.

We are on this journey together and we will continue to ask for your grace and compassion and you can expect that from us, as well.  Please reach out if you need anything. Thank you for your partnership. Remember at Shrevewood we are about Family, Excellence, and Relationships!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mr. DeSmyter and Ms. Holley

Back to School Night

We will host our Back to School Night  (BTSN) on Monday, September 14th from 6:00-7:30. The night will begin at 6:00 in your child's virtual classroom link.  This is the same link that they access everyday for virtual instruction. There you will hear from your child's teacher, the School Board and other Shrevewood Staff.

You will receive separate communication from your child's teacher about the specifics of their Back to School Night.  For parents with multiple children or are unable to attend, all sessions will be recorded and teachers will email the recording out.

Student's Rights & Responsibilities

Each year FCPS requires each family to review the current Student's Rights & Responsibility Handbook.  This year, there have been significant updates for our virtual learning environment.  Please take time to review the related resources and complete the Parent/Student Form.

Monday's at Shrevewood

Each Monday at SWES students will log in at 9:20. All students will receive small group instruction from their teacher, and may receive additional services from our special education, ESOL, or Advanced Academics team. After students have completed their small groups for the day, they should work asynchronously.  Student's school day will end at 12:20.
