Join the PTO
It's time to sign up (or renew!) your PTO membership in the Terraset PTO for the 2020-21 school year!
The Terraset PTO was formed by Terraset parents and is run specifically for the benefit of our school and students. Throughout the year we coordinate and fund programs that enrich our students' experiences and support our teachers' and administrators' goals and ideas. Because of the unconventional school year, the PTO is promoting our membership drive with incentives to support Terraset staff and students.
Each week we will draw 3 names to win a Terraset giveaway. Prizes include: car magnets, tote bags, T-Shirts, face masks, and a few surprises. We hope to get 20 members joining or rejoining each week. If you have not joined the PTO before, this is a great time to start!
Memberships are per adult and are only $10. The sign up deadline for prize giveaways is Tuesday October 13th. Memberships from the 2019-2020 school year have expired.
This year will require even more creativity than ever as we strive to support our school as we always have. Active participation and support from our families is crucial to our success and we thank you in advance!

PTO Meeting - Tuesday September 15
We will have our first virtual PTO meeting for this school year on Tuesday September 15th at 7pm. The link for the meeting will be shared out next week. We hope you are able to join us!

Digital Box Tops For Education (blue and red label). To submit these, download the Box Tops for Education app for your smartphone, sign in and choose Terraset as the school you support, then scan a picture of your receipt (within 14 days of the purchase) and the app will find the qualifying items and credit them to our school.

Harris Teeter
When you link your Harris Teeter “VIC” card to Terraset, the PTO gets a percentage of the money from your purchases. There are two different ways to link your Harris Teeter card to Terraset:
- Login/set up an account at https://www.harristeeter.com/user/login and select Terraset Elementary School.
- Ask a cashier at the store to link your card to select Terraset Elementary School.

Amazon Smile
Do you shop on Amazon? The Terraset PTO participates in the AmazonSmile program. When ordering through AmazonSmile, Amazon will donate a portion of your purchase to the PTO. Same products, same prices, same service, and you help the PTO!

Cub Scouts - Learn More at Upcoming Scouting Night!
- Cub Scouting is a year-round program designed to meet the needs of young boys and girls ages 5-10 and their families. The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness.
- Even though school is virtual, Cub Scouts will continue on! We have a fun and safe program lined up for the year, including a blend of virtual and socially-distanced, outdoor activities planned.
- In the National Capital Area Council, Cub Scouts and their families enjoy participating in age-appropriate camping opportunities, service projects, games, and other fun activities that guide boys and girls through Cub Scouting’s core values and give them a sense of personal achievement. Parents, leaders, and friends play an active role in the program as they encourage boys and girls to live by the Cub Scout Motto: “Do Your Best!”

Tigers on the Town
On select days throughout the school year the Terraset PTO will partner with an area restaurant to host a Tigers on the Town event where the restaurant will donate a portion of sales that day back to the school. You get to take a night off from cooking and help raise funds for the PTO.
Mark you calendars and plan to join us for the first Tigers on the Town of the school year at Chipotle in South Lakes Shopping Center on Tuesday September 29th from 4pm - 8pm. Mention Terraset when ordering or we'll provide you with a flyer (closer to the event) to show when you check out and Terraset will get credit for your order.
