Franklin MS Weekly Update - September 3

Franklin Families and Students,

Good afternoon! These last few weeks have flown by as we have worked together to get ready for the first day of school. Our staff has been hard at work setting up virtual classrooms, collaborating and learning from each other, and laying a foundation that will foster strong relationships with our students and families.

As we arrive at the start of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you. During this transition to a virtual school setting, we are grateful for everything you are doing for your student. The time, effort, and support that our families have provided our students has been amazing. Please know how much we appreciate you. The entire FMS staff is excited to partner with you during the upcoming school year.

We are also grateful for the opportunity to connect with our students at this afternoon’s Virtual Orientation and help them get ready for the beginning of school. Our students did a great job!

There are a few updates below that we hope will be useful next week. Always feel free to reach out to me directly at dpwright@fcps.edu if there is anything we can do to help.

Have a great long weekend and we look forward to connecting with everyone on Tuesday morning!

Sincerely,

Dustin Wright

Principal

We Need Your Help - Parental Consent for Select Digital Resources

At Franklin Middle School, our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here.

Included on this page is also a link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. Please reach out to your teacher if you have questions or concerns about the digital resources we’ve chosen to use this year.
