HES Band and Strings for Upper Grades

FCPS and Herndon Elementary School will be offering instrumental music for upper-grade students for the 2020-2021 school year! Students in fourth grade may select a string instrument, and students in fifth and sixth grade may select a band or string instrument. Students will have one 30-minute synchronous lesson per week, with additional playing opportunities on Mondays. Ms. Schwoyer (strings) and Ms. Adams (band) will visit students virtually during their first week of online school to tell them more about the strings and band programs, have a video with descriptions of the instruments, and info on choosing an instrument. To sign up for strings or band, please complete the HES Music Elective Registration Form by Friday, September 18th. Class instruction will likely begin during the week of September 21st. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Chelsea Schwoyer (strings) at caschwoyer@fcps.edu or Ms. Patricia Adams (band) at pkadams@fcps.edu
