Virtual Orientation 9/2
Please join us for our virtual orientation for all students on September 2nd from 6 pm to 8 pm. You child will have an opportunity to work virtually with their Advisory teacher (4th Period) from 7 pm to 8 pm to prepare for a great start to their year!

Here is what students and parents can expect:
- Time to connect with their Advisory teacher, access their teachers via Flipgrid recording and interact with other students
- A chance to learn about the new bell schedule and advisory period
- Social-Emotional Learning Focus
- An opportunity to make sure technology needs are met before school starts
- Tips for success as we begin the school year virtually
- Parent Q & A from 7 pm to 8 pm
In the coming days, students will receive more information from their Advisory teacher through their @fcpsschools.net Gmail account. Students are expected to respond to the email. This will allow teachers to know that the message was received and that the student plans to attend the orientation.
It is very important for students to check their @fcpsschools.net Gmail account every day.

Digital Resources at Jackson MS
Our teachers are busy creating engaging lessons for students. Many teachers are hoping to use some powerful digital applications that require your consent. Without consent, teachers will need to plan additional lessons or deviate from a useful application altogether.

Parents and students, individual student schedules will be visible in StudentVue and ParentVue on Wednesday, September 2.
 If there are scheduling errors, please contact the school counselor on the schedule.
Teachers will send Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (BBCU) links to students this week so students can prepare to access their classes starting Tuesday, September 8. Don’t forget to join us on Wednesday, September 2 at 6pm for Orientation.

*We do have a few extra yearbooks available for sale, in case you didn’t order one ahead of time… but we’re not ready to do that yet. We will send out another message when we are ready to sell the extras.

**Please check your students’ schedule for the courses listed to determine if you have anything to pick up.
We will use the kiss-n-ride loop at Door #1 on both days. Simply pull up, give your student’s name, and we will bring the items to your car.
