Principal's Message
Good Evening Sleepy Hollow Family! We hope this newsletter finds you safe and healthy. Our teachers and staff members have been working diligently collaborating and planning for the new school. The message I hear over and over is they all are excited to begin the new year with our kids. We are all excited and embracing our new theme, “Jumping into Action: Transforming and Growing through Equity, Excellence and Kindness.” Someone said it best . . . “Connecting home and school makes us a great community of learners.”

K- 5 Laptop Pick up/Distribution Schedule

Teacher Calls – Student Placement
Teachers will call parents and students to introduce themselves on Tuesday, August 25th. Please expect a phone call from teachers between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Virtual Meet & Greet
Teachers will schedule a Virtual Meet & Greet with parents and students Monday, August 31st- Wednesday, September 2nd via Google Meet.
Principal-PTA Parent Coffee
Please join us on Tuesday, September 1st, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., for a Virtual Principal-Parent Coffee for school opening updates.
School Orientation
Sleepy Hollow’s 2020-21 Virtual School Orientation will be held on Thursday, September 3rd. Orientation will begin at 2:00 p.m. Stay tuned for more information and a guest link.
School Supplies
School supplies for all students K-5 will be donated by Sleepy Hollow ES, PTA, school partners and Title I.
New Student Registration
We have created a new page on our website to support you in registering new students! If you have a child, know of a new neighbor or friend moving to the area with children who will be joining us for the 2020-21 school year, please visit our school page and submit information at https/sleepyhollowes.fcps.edu/new-student-registration-2020-21, so we can begin the registration process. For families who need assistance with completing registration in another language other than English, please contact FCPS Student Registration Welcome Center to schedule an appointment by calling (703) 204-6740. We look forward to welcoming ALL our new families in the fall!
Student Intentions for 2020-2021
We need your help in projecting our total enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year. Any families NOT returning to Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in the fall of 2020-2021, due to a move in residency, homeschooling or transfer to private school, please contact SHES as soon as possible to let us know.
