Little Run Virtual Learning Schedules

Please find our instructional schedules for virtual learning below.  Our first day of school is Tuesday. September 8, 2020.  In these schedules, you will notice that students have instructional blocks, specials and break/family choice times.  During these family choice times, we encourage your child to take a break from the screen.  This is a great time for your child to get some movement outdoors, play a game with a family member or create some art.  If you have questions about your child’s schedule, please reach out to their classroom teacher.

Health Information Form and Emergency Care Information Form

Although we are starting the year virtually, it is still required that we collect a Health Information Form and an Emergency Care Information Form from each family. The forms are available for electronic submission by parents via their FCPS 24/7 (Blackboard) accounts within the weCare@school (weCare) module.

Please don’t delay and fill out the forms ASAP! If you need assistance with these forms, please call the main office at 703-503-3500 or email us at LittleRun@fcps.edu.

Public Library Equity Access Pass

As part of the One Fairfax initiative, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Fairfax County Public Library (FCPL), and FCPS Library Information Services have partnered in the Library Equity Access Pass (LEAP) pilot program.

On October 1, 2020 the LEAP program will go division-wide, providing FCPS PreK-12 students with public library checkout privileges for books automatically, without the need to register for a physical library card.  Student names and ID numbers will be provided to FCPL through an automated data download.  Families who do not wish to participate can select the opt-out for LEAP in the 2020-21 SR&R document.

Participating in the LEAP program provides:

  • The ability to checkout up to three public library books at a time.  At any FCPL library branch, students or parents simply share their name and indicated they are an FCPS student.  A virtual account exists and identification is not required.
  • Lost or overdue books will not be charged a fine or replacement fee.  However, only three books can be on a virtual account at a time.
  • Checkouts are limited to physical books.  eBooks and public library digital resources cannot be accessed through this account.  Students are welcome to establish a standard public library card for full access.

The Fairfax County Public Library is open for Express services and offers curbside checkout.

Already Have a School Laptop at Home?

We want to make sure your laptop is ready for when school starts!  It is important that you do the following EACH WEEK:

  • Plug the laptop into an outlet
  • Turn the laptop on and let it boot up
  • Ensure it is connected to the internet
  • Let the laptop sit for 30 minutes. No additional log-ins or activities are required.

By doing these things, you will ensure your laptop has all of the updates and you will be ready to go when school starts!

Mental Wellness Consultations

The FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will continue to offer mental wellness consultations throughout the summer. If you have concerns about your child’s well-being or if your child would like to speak with a school psychologist or school social worker, please request a consultation.  Our FCPS mental health providers are available to help families get needed support through a 45-minute phone consultation or through secure video conferencing. Appointments are open to all FCPS families.

Consultations are offered in two ways:

  • Directly to parents of students in any grade level. This consultation provides an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social-emotional, behavioral, or academic functioning. Information about community resources will also be made available.
  • Directly to students in middle or high school. This consultation provides support and strategies to students who may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, mood, behavior, or peer or family interactions; as well as academic challenges such as organization, time-management, or adjusting to a new school.

We encourage parents to take advantage of this service. Click here to request a consultation. You may also leave us a message at 571-423-4276.
