Dear Eagle Families,

Happy Friday! The first teach workweek is now finished, and our staff has been excited to get “together” to plan for this coming year. We have now passed out the majority of our laptops with just a few hundred left for the coming week. On Monday, you will receive the invitation and link to Eagle Fest (happening on Wednesday, Aug. 26 for 8th grade and Thursday, Aug 27th for 7th grade, both nights at 6 PM). If you cannot attend, we will send the link out of the recording to all families. We will also have an Open House in September where you will get to meet each of your child’s teachers in a mock schedule format. More details to come!

As the school year begins virtually, below you will find the required forms to be completed online to start the 2020-21 school year. All forms for all students are available for electronic submission by parents via FCPS 24/7 (Blackboard)) accounts within the weCare@school (weCare) module by September 7, 2020.

REQUIRED FORMS

Emergency Care Card- Ensure all information is accurate. We must be able to contact you in the event of an emergency.

Health Information Form – This form only needs to be completed if you have changes or updates.

OPTIONAL FORMS

  • Family Life Education: These forms only need to be completed if you wish to opt your child out Family Life Education. Each form contains links that explain the FLE curriculum. Email completed forms to: Ms. Clingenpeel at pjclingenpee@fcps.edu

REMINDER FOR 7th GRADE FAMILIES WHO HAVE NOT TURNED IN UPDATED VACCINATION RECORDS:

Attention 7th Grade families: The TDAP Immunization is a mandatory requirement for all 7th graders attending Fairfax County Public Schools. In order for your child to attend school on the first day, an updated immunization card/sheet must be turned in to Ms. Holmes, aholmes@fcps.edu.  An exemption note from your child’s pediatrician is required for verification.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Holmes.  You can also fax the forms to 703-934-2497 for your convenience.

We are so excited to see yours smiles and waves at laptop distributions. Hope you have getting a chance to talk with staff members as we are calling each family in the next few days!

Stay safe,

Student Laptop Distribution

Thank you to all of the families who have already picked up their laptop!  Here are a few reminders for our remaining families:

You MUST sign up for a time slot to get your new laptop https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050d4aaaa722a4f49-2020

  • Your child MUST be in the car with you.
  • Your child MUST know their password from last year. (If they forgot, please email kfowens@fcps.edu to request a reset BEFORE you come to LMS.)
  • You MUST come during the 15 minute window you sign up for—not any earlier. We are purposefully staggering traffic so you can be the nearest the school to access our FCPS network that is required for the initial student login.
  • You MUST have your child turn on the computer and login at LMS before you leave. This should take less than one minute once we give you the laptop.
  • You MUST place received card with student info onto the laptop where plastic holder is placed.
  • You WILL get printed instructions with your laptop.
  • You WILL be entering Lanier from the Jermantown entrance and driving to the back of the building to receive your laptop.
  • Your child WILL have to go home and sign up for their grade level Google classroom to receive school opening updates.
