Dear North Springfield Community,
I know that everyone has been waiting for detailed information on how their students and families will ultimately be effected by the start of school in a virtual format. We are working as fast as we can to create schedules that we hope will meet the needs of our students, our parents and our teachers. We will be sending a lot of information out over the next three weeks. Schedules and information that are the same for all students will come directly from the school. Schedules and information specific to a grade level and/or classroom will come from our teachers. This way we will try to avoid confusing people. We are working to create additional links and information through our school website so that parents can access information quickly and without always having to log into their students google classroom or blackboard site.
Currently our teachers are calling their classes to identify technology needs. I am sure this might seem backwards as a way to do introductions, however we need to ensure that all our students and families are connected prior to pushing out important information. We are currently planning on doing our technology handout and grade level tool kit handout between August 25th and 28th. You will be contacted for your specific grade level and teachers time.
We will have a virtual student Open House on September 1st to ensure that everyone can log in and is ready for our Tuesday, September 8th start. We will be sending updates starting this week as schedules are solidified and information is ready to be released. Stay safe, we miss you all and can not wait to have everyone back and engaged.

Laptop Distribution Information
Laptop distribution will start on Tuesday, August 25th. We have close to 550 laptops to distribute so we ask for your patience and flexibility.
We will have pick-up points posted and staff members helping to direct you to the right location during check-out. We will adhere to safety guidelines and will have areas marked where families should wait 6 ft. apart. Staff members assisting with laptop distribution will be wearing face masks and gloves. We want to ensure we are all in compliance so families should also arrive to school wearing their face masks. Thank you for your cooperation.
Important note: your child must be present at laptop distribution because they will need to log into their laptop to ensure connectivity. If you are unable to come pick up a laptop on your assigned grade level day please let your teacher know. Dates and times will be sent out this upcoming week as soon as we have numbers per grade level.
Virtual Open House
We will set up our "Open House" virtually on September 1st. A schedule is forthcoming. This is a chance for your child to connect with their classroom teacher prior to their first day.
Please be on the lookout for the email invite from your child’s classroom teacher to set up this virtual meet and greet session.
