Our teachers brought Principal Yacubovich's opening message to life on the Pine Spring sidewalk!

Registration Paperwork

If your child is joining Pine Spring for the first time, please be sure you have completed all of the needed steps to register. Your child will not be able to participate in online learning until all of your paperwork is complete. If you have questions, please reach out to Ms. Breeden

Below are the steps for registration.

Step One:  You will need to complete the forms in the enrollment bundle: https://www.fcps.edu/registration/forms.  These forms are fillable and can be saved and attached to an e-mail.   You will sign the forms during your face to face registration appointment.

Step Two: In addition, for registration, you will need to provide the following and attach to the e-mail:

  • Government Issued ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Birth certificate for each student
  • Proof of Residency in Fairfax County: https://www.fcps.edu/registration/general-registration-requirements/documents
    • Deed OR

  • Physical exam (for students enrolling in Kindergarte-6th grade)
  • Immunization records
  • TB Test: For all students who have resided in a foreign country included on the High TB Burden Country List, for a consecutive period of four weeks.

Step Three:  If you have access to a scanner you can scan the information, or you can take a picture with your cell phone and attach it to an e-mail and send to the registrar at:

Include in your e-mail your phone number and the best time to reach you so that the registrar can schedule an appointment for you to complete the registration.

For further information, please see the FCPS registration website at:  https://www.fcps.edu/registration/general-registration-requirements

Laptop Distribution

Starting tomorrow, Pine Spring will be distributing computers by grade level. Our amazing front office staff has been very busy calling each family to schedule 5-minute appointments.

When you come for your laptop, students in grades 1-6 will need their login information. Kindergarten students will be given their login information at pick-up.

If you did not receive a call for a pick-up time, please reach out to your assigned office support person to schedule a time.

School Supply Donations

As a school community, we are working to ensure that every child at Pine Spring starts the school year off strong. One way that we hope to do this is by providing school supplies to those in need of our support. If you are interested in helping, please consider donating school supplies. We have placed a donation box outside of our main entrance.

The items we need most are:

  • Pencils
  • Pencil sharpeners
  • Crayons
  • Notebooks/paper
  • Rulers
  • Glue sticks
  • Student scissors
  • Earbuds/headphones

Virtual Home Visits

Pine Spring teachers are excited to meet you! Starting Tuesday, teachers will be calling to schedule virtual home visits. This is an opportunity for you and your child to meet the teacher for approximately 5 minutes. The purpose of the virtual visit will be for your child to meet the teacher, get excited about the year, and ensure your child is ready to log in on the first day of school.

We have also scheduled a Back to School Night in late September to talk about things such as curriculum, AAP and our new homework and attendance policy, as these types of topics will not be discussed during this short introduction.

***Please note that the phone number that your teacher will be calling from will come up as a restricted/blocked number.

ParentVue

We are aware of the issue with ParentVue. While class lists are in the system, it will not let you see them until September 4th. Instead of waiting until September 4th, we will be sending out a message to each homeroom this Wednesday letting you know your child’s teacher.

SIS ParentVUE is still going to be an important way to connect with your child’s education. If you have not already set-up an account, we encourage you to activate your account this week.

To access your SIS ParentVue account

  • You will need to login
    • You will need your personalized Activation Key
      • You should get during registration OR
      • Request the code HERE
    • You will need your personal email address

Google Classroom and Google Meet

Again this year, Pine Spring will be using Google as our educational platform. To access the G Suite, you can go to fcps.edu and click G Suite in the blue banner. Your child will log in with the the same user name and password they use to log into their school computer. For returning FCPS students, this is the same information they used last year.

Sample Schedules

While each classroom will have a slightly different schedule, we have posted a sample schedule for each grade level on our Pine Spring web site. You can click on your child’s grade level to access this information. These schedules will allow you to begin to plan your routine. You will notice that all Pine Spring students have the same lunch time from 11:15 AM-12:15 PM. This is designed to allow you to pick-up lunch from our grab and go program without rushing to get back to class.
