LCES Updates 8/14/20: Laptop Pick Up Schedule, Back to School Plans & more: CORRECTION

The earlier publication of our weekly newsletter had an error in the section entitled, "LCES Office Hours". The summer office hours were listed in addition to the updated hours. The error has been corrected and this version contains only the updated office hours that are now in effect. We apologize for any confusion this causes and greatly appreciate your understanding!

Laptop Distribution: Grades K-6

Dear Lees Corner families,

We are looking forward to the start of the 2020-2021 school year and we are working diligently with our staff to prepare and to put measures in place to best support learning and growth for all our students!

We have some GREAT news for you! Next week, on Tuesday, we will begin distributing laptops to students, one grade level at a time. The schedule and procedures to be followed are found below.

This school year FCPS laptops will be available for ALL Lees Corner Students. Fourth graders will continue to use their current laptop. All other grades will be exchanging their laptop or receiving one for the first time. To prepare for distribution, please make sure your child knows his or her username and password. These will not have changed from last year, and they will not expire this year.  If your child has received a password reset notification, please disregard it. If your child cannot remember his/her password, please fill out this form so it can be reset before distribution day.  Kindergarten students will receive their username and password on the day of distribution.

Distribution Procedure:

  • Your child MUST accompany you.
  • Place a paper with your child’s name written in LARGE LETTERS  in your windshield so it is visible to our staff when you arrive.
  • Pull into the bus loop as close as you can to the car in front of you.
  • Please wait for a staff member to give you further directions.
  • Your student will need to:
  1. log onto the computer,
  2. log into their Google Account before leaving school grounds.

Expect this process to take about 10 minutes.

  • Please wear a mask while on school grounds.
  • If you have any of the symptoms on the health protocol list please arrange to reschedule.
  1. Do you have a cough and/or sore throat?
  2. Have you had a fever in the last 72 hours (3 days).
  3. Do you have any shortness of breath or is it hard for you to breathe?
  4. Is anyone in your house ill with a fever or cough?
  5. Have you had any contact with someone known to have or be under investigation for Coronavirus in the last 14 days (2 weeks)?
