Laptop Distribution

For students who need access to a laptop for Fall online learning, laptop distribution will be held by appointment only

If you will need a laptop for your child, please complete the laptop form sent via email yesterday.  You are invited to complete this form even if you have already contacted Ms. Lim.  Once we know you need a laptop, then someone from our front office will call you to schedule an appointment.

 

Volunteer Opportunity - PTA

The BMP PTA is seeking a volunteer to support this school year as treasurer.  The treasure is responsible for tracking income from fundraisers as well as PTA expenses, which traditionally include supports that our provided to our school in ways that support all students.  If you would like to learn more about this opportunity and to work with the fabulous BMP PTA board, please visit their website at https://sites.google.com/view/bmp-pta/home or contact PTA President, Ms. Alston.

 

Volunteer Opportunity - TPAC

Bren Mar Park is seeking a volunteer to represent the school year this year as Title 1 Parent Advisory Council representative.  The TPAC representative is invited to join other school-based representatives from across the district to learn about unique and creative ways schools are building partnerships with families.  The happen monthly, and will likely be virtual this school year.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact principal, Mrs. Williams. 

 

Beginning of School Information

All students will start the school year online and the first day of the school year is Tuesday, September 8, 2020.  

The school day is from 9:15 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Schedules will include lunch, physical activity/screen break times, specials, and independent work time.  Class schedules will be shared by teachers. 

 

Ways You Can Help at Home

You can help your child by getting him or her back in the routines for a school day: 

     - Begin waking up at a set time, before 9:00 a.m.

     - Follow a morning routine, such as:

               - Get up

               - Use the bathroom & wash hands

               - Change clothes

               - Eat Breakfast

               - Brush teeth

     - Begin eating lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

     - Have your child read for at least 20 minutes each day

     - Talk with your child about topics that interest them

     - Begin going to bed at a set time each night

School Supply Lists

School supply lists have been updated to represent a virtual only start to the school year.  These lists are located on the Bren Mar Park website HERE.

 

School Supply Donations

Are you wanting to donate school supplies for students in need?  The Foundation for FCPS is raising funds to purchase school supply kits that will be provided to the nearly 60,000 students who may not be able to afford to purchase their own. A $50 contribution to Collect for Kids will provide school supplies for 5 students.
