Sangster Virtual Grade Level Schedules

Dear Sangster Parents,

Happy Friday. We promised you that grade level schedules would be published the week of August 17. We have been working around the clock to plan for a successful virtual opening. Today, we posted our tentative grade level schedules on our Sangster website for your family planning. https://sangsteres.fcps.edu/announcements/sangster-virtual-grade-level-tentative-schedules  These are the tentative schedules, and are subject to be tweaked before the first day of school on September 8, 2020, a month away.  Each grade level will have different staggered times for Language Arts, Math, Science/Social Studies, Specials and lunch. This is necessary for our Resource teachers, Specialist teachers, and Instructional Assistants who work in all grade levels. Screen breaks and family choice/recess time is built in for every grade level. More detailed information will be coming to you from your child’s teacher at the end of the month, including information about specials.  All students will be receiving PE, Music and Art along with other specials.  We wanted to publish this information as soon as possible to help families plan for their family systems. Sangster’s bell schedule is 9:10 – 3:55. Attendance is taken Monday-Friday.

It is our goal to publish Sangster’s laptop distribution schedule next Thursday in our weekly News You Choose. Laptops will be available for all students in grades K-6. Sangster is diligently planning and preparing the equipment for distribution, which will occur in a format similar to our pick-up of student belongings in June. Laptop distribution will take place August 17-20. We are planning for a distribution of 950 laptops in a safe and organized manner following all social distancing guidelines. You will be receiving a link to the computer loaner acceptance form soon that each family will need to sign. The week of August 31, before school begins, we will schedule a time for you and your child to test their machines with your child’s teacher to ensure they are connected to the platforms that we will be using for distance learning. Our School Based Technology Specialists (SBTS), Debbie Tannenbaum will be the contact person if you have questions at dltannenbaum@fcps.edu after picking up your child’s laptop.

Take good care and have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Lisa M. Reddel
