We hope you are continuing to stay safe and dry. This week we had the opportunity to participate in the annual FCPS Kickoff event. These events included a keynote address by Dr. Kendi and our leadership sharing a district-wide commitment to keeping equity at the center of our work. We are feeling energized and excited to support this focus at Woodburn.
We hope you will join on us on Monday evening for our community meeting. We will be sharing information about:

- Open House and Back to School Night

We will be following a similar bell schedule this year. School will start at 9:00 am and end at 3:45 pm.
The PTA and school leadership will host a community meeting on August 10th. During this meeting we will share details about the upcoming year and answer any questions you might have.

A virtual Kindergarten Meet & Greet will be held on Monday, August 10th from 10:00-10:30. All rising kindergarten families are invited to attend and should have received a message with more information. A link to this event will be sent to kindergarten families on Sunday evening. We look forward to spending this time together!
We are preparing for our virtual start of school and would like to get a laptop to EVERY Woodburn student. Next week you will be receiving a survey that all families must complete to indicate if students have an FCPS laptop. Please submit one survey for every Wildcat.

A continued special thanks to Lynn Rozental for her amazing effort coordinating an ongoing food drive to benefit our community. Lynn will continue collecting and delivering food every Wednesday for the foreseeable future, so there’s still time to support our families! You can drop off food at 3403 Cypress Drive, Falls Church. There is a box on the porch 24/7. No deadlines- whenever you have time to shop/drop off. You can also order food online and have it sent. If you have any questions please call 202-590-7034
