Welcome Letter from our new PTSA President
You are invited to connect, support, and engage with our McLean community! The letter includes links to: join the PTSA, find out about upcoming meetings and volunteer opportunities, a short survey so you can provide input to help guide the PTSA's 2020 efforts to support students and their families, and more. Read the letter here.
Now you can support McLean High School PTSA through your everyday activities!
Shopping, booking travel, and even donating electronics and vehicles can raise money that enriches the educational, social and physical health of MHS students.
Please check out our fundraising website http://MCLEANHSPTSA.causenetwork.com to start helping in these new and different ways. Thanks for your support!

Your Input Needed for a CDC and National PTA Survey
The @CDCgov (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) is conducting a survey to learn the needs of PTA parents, leaders and educators related to cleaning, disinfection, and hand hygiene in schools. This survey will help develop education materials and outreach tools to better support schools. Link to the survey here.
Volunteer Openings
The McLean PTSA is an all-volunteer organization. Every program the PTSA runs is planned, funded and implemented by the creative, energetic and generous families of McLean High School.
Whether you have the time and energy to chair a committee or prefer to volunteer an hour at an occasional event, YOUR PTSA NEEDS YOU and appreciates all that you do!
Come join us in our efforts to enrich the education of students, support administration and staff, and build an informed, connected community. Our 2020-2021 Board needs you for the following positions:
President Elect
Serve our Highlander community before stepping into the role of President. Share your valuable insights and contributions and shape the following year, while allowing time to learn on the job.
eNews Team
Responsible for sending weekly PTSA e-newsletter via FCPS package to share relevant information, promote events and enhance parent engagement. Proof-reading skills are a plus.
All Night Grad Party (ANGP) Committee Chairs for 2021
Lead planning and delivery of our All Night Grad Party for the Senior Class of 2021. Our planning begins early to make it a memorable gathering for our graduating students. Current-year committee chairs are available to provide a smooth transition along with providing helpful documentation.
Membership Co-chair The membership co-chair works directly with the Vice President for Fundraising to create and implement a membership plan, promote membership, and provide membership reports at PTSA board and general meetings. Excel skills are helpful in analyzing membership data and creating membership reports from AtoZ Connect. Training for transition provided.
Native Speakers of Languages Other than English
Help translate PTSA documents for the website or volunteer as a “Parent Ambassador” for your native language to answer school-related questions from non-English speaking families.
Contact the PTSA President at president@mcleanptsa.org to find out more about how you can get involved.
Virtual Practice ACT on 8/8
EC Tutoring will offer a virtual ACT Exam on Saturday, August 8. These tests are available to students at area schools at $20 per test. Please remember to identify yourself as an MHS student on the sign up form so that the PTSA gets credit; the fees for these tests support our programs.
