GROW AT HOME KITS

FNS plans to distribute Grow at Home kits on 8/5/20 through Bus Route # 13 that serves a number of your students (Freedom Hill ES, Kilmer MS, Lemon Road ES, Longfellow MS, Marshall HS, Mclean HS, Shrevewood ES, Stenwood ES, Timberlane ES).

The FCPS Grow at Home program provides students with the opportunity to engage with farm to school activities using growing kits. Kits include several green bean seeds, soil, planting instructions, an  activity packet, and a letter to caretakers (in English and Spanish). Our supply is capped at 50-100 kits per site, with a limit of one per household.  We ask that information about the Grow at Home kits be shared only after your school’s distribution is complete (see sample messaging attached). This program was recently piloted at several emergency food distribution sites and has been very well received.
