LCES Updates 7/30/20: Laptop Drop Off and Pick Up Information

Laptop Collection Event for Rising 6th and 7th Grade Students

Dear Lees Corner families,

Each student in grades K-6 will have access to school device to support their learning for the 2020-2021 school year!

The process will begin with collecting devices for rising 6th and 7th grade students.

Once we have collected laptops from these students, we will begin distributing laptops in August to students in all grade levels.

More information will be sent to you about laptop pickup events in a future email/News You Choose message from our school. Stay tuned!

If you have a rising 6th or 7th grade student who still has a Lees Corner laptop, please plan on returning it to us on TUESDAY, AUGUST 4th. You may drop off anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Your child will not be able to get their new middle school laptop until the 6th grade device is returned. Questions? Please contact JoAnne Fisher jmfisher1@fcps.edu.

When you come to the school to drop off the laptop, please keep in mind the following helpful reminders:

  • Pull into the FRONT BUS loop. Staff will be available there to help you.
  • Place a piece of paper on the dashboard of your car with the following information clearly displayed in LARGE writing:
    • Name of previous teacher
    • Name of student
    • ie. Mrs. Lazarus, Justin Bieber
  • Please make sure that all school issued equipment is returned. This includes the laptop and the charger.
  • Remain in your car for everyone’s safety. Staff members will collect the items from you.

If for some reason you cannot make it during the assigned days and times, please email Mrs. Fisher directly using the email above.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Summer Office Hours

While the Lees Corner office staff continues to telework, we are now able to receive visitors and meet with families in person, via appointment only.

In Phase Three, visitors to FCPS will be required to make an appointment and must also wear a face covering or mask. To promote social distancing, school visitors will be limited and visits should occur by scheduled appointment only. No walk-in visitors are permitted. When a face-to-face appointment visit is necessary, the school will schedule an appointment time with the visitor and follow a series of protocols before the scheduled meeting.

If you need assistance with anything or to schedule an appointment, please do not hesitate to reach out to Matthew Miller at mrmiller@fcps.edu, Laura Tapper at latapper@fcps.edu, or VaRonica Sloan at vdsloan@fcps.edu.

If you would like to register your child for school, please email Betty Nolan at BLNolan@fcps.edu.
