MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL - MASTER SCHEDULE AND KICKOFF EVENTS

Dear Parents/Guardians:

FCPS has made the decision for all students to start the 2020-2021 school year in a virtual setting. At present, we are working to complete our master schedule. At this point, we will neither accept nor process schedule change requests until the master schedule is completed. We anticipate completing the master schedule the week prior to the start of school.

At present, there will be no in-person tours of Westfield High School. Several of our kickoff events to include Bulldog Bootcamp, Freshman/New Student Orientation, Bulldog BBQ and Back to School Night will be done in a virtual setting. We will continue to utilize our website, as well as weekly emails to keep you informed of upcoming events.

For your planning purposes, the following event dates are provided.  We will provide additional details for each event in the coming weeks.

  • August 10-14: Freshman Orientation Bootcamp for Rising Freshmen Students (Virtual)
  • August 10-13: Senior Yearbook Portraits (Information will be coming from Victor O’Neill Studios)
  • September 2: Freshman and New Students Parent Night (Virtual)

We recognize this is an unconventional way to kick off the 2020-2021 school year.  We are committed to supporting our students, staff and families during these challenging times.  A key part of supporting you is maintaining communications; therefore, we ask that you monitor the school webpage (https://westfieldhs.fcps.edu/), subscribe to News You Choose (https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/VAEDUFCPS/subscriber/new?qsp=Westfield_HS),  follow us on Twitter (@westfield_hs), and (students) monitor your fcpsschools.net email account.

We look forward to sharing the details of our upcoming Bulldog events. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the administrative team if you have questions or concerns.

Stay healthy; be safe; GO BULLDOGS!
