TLES Updates - 7/20/20

a

Hello Timber Lane Families,

I hope this News You Choose finds you all well.  We are eagerly planning for the 2020-2021 school year for our online and in-person student options.  As many of you know the survey for parent choice for the online or in-person option has now closed.  For those who did not respond to the survey the default plan is to schedule those students for in-person learning.  However at Timber Lane we are all about being extremely strategic and precise.  A small team of individuals are calling and texting our families so we have a head count for 100% of our students.

In order to best accommodate many of our students' academic and unique needs, we will be hand placing all students into all new classes for in-person learning.  All online classes have been created essentially by parent request, and when necessary we will work to strategically craft classes for the grade levels that may qualify for more than one online class.

Readjusting class placements may adjust the alpha designation for some of our students.  This will all take place in our best estimation during the first week in August, after we go through the motions for online staffing updates and online teacher allocations to be determined across the county. Once we have class placement updates we will communicate all of this information to all of our families.

Currently we have confirmed online or in-person choices for 503 families.

We are still waiting to confirm the choices for approximately 120 families

(many Head Start & Preschool students in addition to pockets of K-6 students).

Of the families who have already made their choice, 42% have chosen online; 58% have chosen in-person.

For our instructional staff, 40% prefer online and 60% chose in-person.

Take care and we will be in touch!

Yearbooks Are Here!

On Monday July 27th from 9am-4pm we will offer an additional pick-up day for all pre-ordered yearbooks.  Please ring the bell at Door #1 and a staff member (wearing PPE) will check you off the list and deliver a yearbook to you at the door.  All 6th grade yearbooks will be mailed to our rising 7th graders, so no need for pick-up. :)

Please wear a face-covering and follow social distancing guidelines as much as possible.
