WAKEFIELD FOREST ES Message from the Principal

Dear Wakefield Forest Families,

I hope you had a restful holiday weekend! I apologize that the document I sent Friday is having difficulty opening. Information from FCPS can be found at the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and FCPS Plan for Return to School Link. Several parents have asked about recess; the plan would be for us to have recess, but we do not know how that will be structured at this time. Based on information available today, students will be limited to their classrooms for the majority of the day to limit transitions and interactions. We are working on the capacity limits of each classroom space and planning for room configurations to support maintaining distance in these spaces. Students are expected to wear masks to school daily; additional information will be provided on mask usage as it is available.

A virtual town hall with Superintendent Brabrand will be held tonight, July 6, at 6:30 p.m., to answer questions about FCPS’ Return to Learn options. The Town Hall will be available on FCPS Cable TV Channel 99, and will also be livestreamed on the FCPS website. Please send questions before or during the forum by emailing ReturntoSchool@fcps.edu. You can also call 1-800-231-6359 during the forum.
